What to expect.

When you come to a service at Gateway we want you to feel welcomed, included and relaxed. Each week Gateway Church worships God and hears relevant teaching from the Bible.

.Parking

There is a car park for guests at the rear of our building (accessed via Boyd Road; we encourage regular attendees to park in Northmere Road). From the car park you will need to walk round to the Alder Road side of the building to find the main entrance.

.Children

If you have children with you the 3-11s meet in the hall adjacent to the car park while there is a crèche for 0-2s in the main church building. All our children’s workers are CRB checked and our kids ministry is fun! Young people from the age of 12 upwards are normally in the service but sometimes have other activities. We will make this clear for you when you visit.

.Refreshments

When you come into our building there is a coffee area on the left-hand side. Please help yourself! The toilets are also to the left, beyond the coffee area. Our meeting starts promptly. Please feel free to sit where you like but there will be someone to help you find a seat if you need assistance.

.Meeting

In our meetings we normally spend 30-40 minutes in worship. This is mainly in the form of singing (words to the songs are projected on a screen), and church members will also read out passages from the Bible, pray, and say things they believe God has shown them. Please feel free to join in or just observe in whatever way makes you most comfortable. We also normally have a short time of sharing news, and we take up an offering. Guests are not expected to give money at this point (although you are welcome to!) and no-one will mind if you don’t.

There will be about 40 minutes of teaching from the Bible. We believe this to be an important element of our worship and is a key reason for us gathering together. We also regularly take communion together, which is the high point of Christian worship.

After the service people tend to hang around to chat and have a tea or coffee. There is an information point at which you can pick up more information about the church, or talk to a member of our Welcome Team if this would be helpful.

We hope to see you soon!
